Privacy Policy
Last updated: 9 October 2026
This policy explains what WaySpeak ("the app", "we") does and does not do with your information. WaySpeak is built to work entirely on your own PC, and this policy is short because there isn't much to tell.
1. Who we are
WaySpeak is developed and sold by Waymaure Seuell II, an individual, doing business as WaySpeak. You can reach us at info@wayspeakapp.com.
2. Information we do not collect
WaySpeak does not require an account and does not include analytics, advertising, or tracking of any kind. We do not collect, see, or store:
- The text you select, read, or look up
- Anything you dictate with Speak to Type
- Images or screen areas you capture with Draw Box and Read
- Your settings, voice choice, or appearance preferences
- Your name, email address, or any other personal information — unless you choose to contact us yourself, by email or with the form on our Contact page
3. What happens on your PC
By default, every feature runs locally on your device:
- Read Highlighted uses either a voice already installed on your PC or one of WaySpeak's own natural sounding AI voices, Heart, Michael or George, generated on your device.
- Dictionary looks words up in an offline word list installed with the app. No lookup is sent anywhere.
- Draw Box and Read uses the image-reading (OCR) feature already built into Windows, which processes the image on your device.
- Speak to Type uses, by default, a private offline speech-recognition model. Your voice audio is processed on your PC and is never sent anywhere.
- Your settings (voice, colors, layout, and so on) are saved only in a file in your own Windows user folder.
4. The two optional times WaySpeak uses the internet
Language downloads. If you choose a new language under "Speak in" in Settings, WaySpeak asks you first, then downloads that language once. The translation files come from Mozilla (the makers of Firefox), stored on Google's cloud storage, and the Spanish, Portuguese and French voices come from Hugging Face. Like any download, those sites can see your computer's internet address and that a file was requested; WaySpeak sends them nothing else. Once a language is downloaded, translating and reading happen on your PC, and the words you read are never sent anywhere. If you never choose a new language, nothing is downloaded.
Microsoft Online voice typing. WaySpeak's Settings let you optionally switch Speak to Type's accuracy from "Offline" to "Microsoft Online." If — and only if — you turn this on, your microphone audio is sent to Microsoft's own Windows speech-recognition service to be converted into text. That exchange is governed by Microsoft's Privacy Statement, not by us; we do not receive, see, or store that audio ourselves. This setting is off by default.
5. Purchases
WaySpeak is sold through the Microsoft Store. Microsoft processes your payment and handles billing and refunds under its own policies. We never see or store your payment card details.
6. Children's privacy
WaySpeak is not directed at children and, as explained above, does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
7. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, for any significant change, note it here.
8. Contact us
Questions about this policy or your privacy? Email info@wayspeakapp.com.
If you use the form on our Contact page, what you type (your message, and your name and email address if you choose to give them) is sent to us as an email so we can answer you. The website does not keep a copy of it, and we use it only to reply.
